“Inside Out” is a reflection of my desire to find a sense of safety and comfort in spaces where I often feel exposed or out of place. In this series, I bring the intimacy of home into public environments, portraying figures in relaxed, vulnerable positions against the backdrop of streets, plazas, and urban settings.
These paintings are driven by a longing to dissolve the boundaries between private and public, inner and outer worlds. The figures recline, rest, and reflect—unapologetically present in spaces that rarely offer the warmth of home. Through this, I question the structures that shape our collective sense of security, asking whether the comfort we seek is something we can carry within us, or if it must be built into the spaces we inhabit.
“Inside Out” is both a personal exploration and a broader commentary on the ways our environments shape our emotional landscapes. By placing moments of stillness and ease into the public sphere, I invite viewers to consider their own relationship with vulnerability, presence, and belonging.
